JAMMU: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali, today termed artists as an effective medium of promoting moral principles, reconciliation, overcoming barriers, building peace and universal brotherhood for raising a global community.
The Minister, while exhorting local and foreign artists to act as ambassadors of peace for Jammu and Kashmir, sought their cooperation beyond boundaries of religion, race and ethnicity for promoting our state as an abode of peace, amity and unity.
Addressing an annual day function titled ‘Kala Sangam’ of Institute of Music & Fine Arts (IMFA), Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali said that art has no borders and barriers and artists with their visionary brains can play a significant role in bridging the ethnic and regional gaps.
The Minister called upon the domestic as well as foreign artists to become ambassadors of peace for Jammu and Kashmir to promote and present the state as an ideal destination to visit always across the globe. ‘Art symbolizes oneness and unity in diversity and if artists come forward with a peace mission for Jammu and Kashmir, the state will certainly witness a new world of peace and prosperity”, Zulfkar said adding that an artist’s knack has direct impact on human heart and mind so they can become a reason for change in the society.
Expressing gratitude to outside artists for presenting their talent in our state, Zulfkar appealed them to carry with them peace message from the state for the country so that a better and real picture is reflected across their regions.
Appreciating the students of Music and Fine arts, Zulfkar said that the Institute of Music and Fine Arts is producing gems in the field of art with their quality services and facilities. He appreciated Jammu University for keeping traditional music alive by encouraging and promoting all forms of art.
The Minister assured all help from the Government to encourage music and fine arts and hoped that the University would continue its efforts with the same zeal and devotion in the field.
