Zulfkar for coordinated implementation of centrally sponsored schemes

SRINAGAR, July 30:  Stressing the need for timely completion of development projects and judicious utilization of funds, Minister for CA&PD and Tribal Affairs Choudhary Zulfkar  Ali today asked the Deputy Commissioner Kupwara to formulate a proposal for convergence of various Centrally Sponsored Schemes for their coordinated and effective implementation.
He instructed the concerned to submit the proposal for same duly approved by the respective legislators within a week so that the matter can be taken up for follow up action.
“The move is aimed at enhancing efficiency and attaining the objective of prompt development,” the Minister said and added that for this there is need to optimize efforts through inter-sectoral approach which will enable better and effective implementation of developmental schemes.
The Minister gave these directions while chairing a meeting to finalize the plan for various centrally sponsored flagship programmes including SSA, RMSA, MGNREGA and Swach Bharat Abiyan for district Kupwara here today.
MLA Karnah was   also present in the meeting.
A joint team of officers from different departments was also constituted to look into the modalities and prepare the roadmap for the same within stipulated time.
Reviewing the sanitation activities, the Minister asked Director Rural Sanitation to double their targets from 800 to 1600 in the district for providing toilet facilities to households as majority of population belongs to BPL families. He said the Government’s focus and objective is to extend benefits of welfare schemes to the deserving areas.
The Minister while expressing dismay over the deficient replies from officers said that neither subletting of duties nor laxity on part of any officers would be tolerated. He asked them to put in extra efforts for judicious, equitable utilization of funds besides removing bottlenecks hindering developmental works.
Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Director Rural Development Kashmir, Director Command Area, Director Rural Sanitation Kashmir, Director SSA besides other district officers attended the meeting.
