JAMMU, Jan 10: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali and Minister for Industries and Commerce Chander Parkash Ganga today participated in the Schedule Cast, Schedule Tribe hub conclave organized by the Union Ministry for Micro, Small, Medium enterprises at Vijaypur.
Vice Chairman Indian Red Cross, Avinash Rai Khanna, Member Legislative Assembly Davinder Manyal, National Working President of Forum of SC, ST, Inder Iqbal Singh Atwal, Vice Chairman SC, ST, OBC Development Corporation Jammu, Balbir Ram, former Chairman Punjab State Commission for SC, Rejesh Bagha, and entrepreneurs participated in the enclave.
Chowdhary Zulfkar, speaking on the occasion, said that Center and State Governments have launched number of schemes for the SC, ST population with the motive to uplift their socio-economic standards. He stressed upon the concerned officers to organize seminars and other programmes on regular basis so that these schemes would reach to the grass root level.
Chowdhary Zulfkar suggested the organizers of the conclave to encourage those ST, SC youth who have set up their own small and medium units and are providing jobs to others to motivate and guide other youth .
Chander Parkash, while speaking on the occasion, said that the Industries and Commerce Department is making all out efforts to generate employment opportunities for unemployed particularly for ST, SC youth. He appreciated the State Tribal Ministry for taking deep interest in improving the living standards of nomadic population through numerous innovative programmes launched in this regard.
Later, the Ministers released a directory of SC, ST enterprisers.
On the occasion, several ST, SC entrepreneurs were present, some of whom were felicitated for their exceptional work in their respective business.
