JAMMU, Oct 1: Minister for CAPD and Tribal Affairs, Ch. Zulfkar Ali today reviewed work plan on construction of six storeyed Shopping Mall also housing the Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Office at Ware House.
It was apprised that the project to be constructed by R&B (PWD) would involve cost of Rs. 118 crore on 21 kanal land available at Ware House.
The Minister was informed that the project would have all ultra modern facilities at par with other best Shopping Malls.
The meeting was attended by Divisional Commissioner Jammu, IGP Jammu, SSP Jammu, Director CAPD, Chief Engineer R&B, Deputy Director CAPD besides other senior officers of concerned departments.
Meanwhile, a deputation of Shia Federation led by its President Ashiq Hussain met Zulfkar Ali and discussed various issues and arrangements to be made by the district administration for ensuing month of Moharram.
The Minister while interacting with deputationists issued on the spot instructions to concerned authorities to ensure foolproof arrangements for smooth conduct of Moharram as it is one of the venerable months for the entire Muslim community. He asked the Police and Traffic authorities to ensure security and traffic regulation during processions being taken out in connection with the religious function. He directed the PHE and PDD to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply during Moharram.
Similarly the CAPD Department was asked to ensure adequate availability of ration, kerosene oil and other essentials during the Moharram. The Municipal authorities were directed to ensure cleanliness in the Jammu city particularly in Shia dominated areas and repair/install solar lights so that the devotees do not face any inconvenience.
