1.18 lakh pilgrims visited Shiv Khori Shrine till March

REASI, Apr 1: Over 118982 pilgrims visited the famous cave shrine of Lord Shiva at Shiv Khori nested Shivalik hills in Reasi district this year till March-2015. This was disclosed by Deputy Commissioner Reasi Sushma Chauhan, who is also Vice Chairman  of Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Board.
With adequate facilities put in place Shiv Khori Cave Shrine in Reasi is witnessing huge inflow of devotees, she said adding that this fast emerging pilgrimage destination witnessed a huge influx of devotees during Maha Shivratri and the trend is expected to resume again with the beginning of the Amarnath Yatra.
Chauhan informed that in the wake of continuing rains movement of the pilgrims is being continuously monitored along the Shiv Khori track. She added that the NH1C connecting Reasi with Shiv Khori which was affected by the landslides was immediately cleared by pressing men and machinery into action.
Aghar Jitto, Noaun Pandian, Baba Dhansar, Deera Baba Banda Bahudur and Shiv Khori are the holy shrines, which have been developed to divert the maximum number of pilgrims of Vaishno Devi towards the interior of Reasi district, DC added.
