1.230 kg heroin-like-substance recovered in Jammu

JAMMU, Aug 22: Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) in Narwal area have arrested an individual and recovered 1.230 kilograms of heroin-like-substance from his possession.
The cost of the consignment in the international market is around Rs 1.45 crore.

Addressing media persons in this regard, SP Jammu South, Ajay Sharma said a patrolling party of Police Post Narwal spotted a suspicious individual near Kiryani Tallab area on August 21.
During search of the personal belongings of the suspect, he said, 1.230 kilograms of heroin-like-substance was recovered from the possession of the suspect.
Accordingly, the SP Jammu South said that the accused identified as Gulzar Hussain of Poonch was booked in case FIR number 200/2024 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Bahu Fort.
“Preliminary, it has come to the fore that the consignment was picked by the accused from Poonch itself,” said the SP Jammu South, Ajay Sharma, adding, “However, we’re investigating the backward and forward linkages of this case.”
