JAMMU, Oct 25: A police constable died while two other persons got injured in separate road accidents in different parts of Jammu region.
According to a police spokesperson, a constable was seriously injured when the bike he was riding on was hit by a truck in Chingus area of Rajouri late last night. He was shifted to Sub-District Hospital, Rajouri, from where this morning he was referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where he succumbed to his injuries this evening.
The constable has been identified as Bhupinder Kumar son of Lekh Raj and resident of Seot in Rajouri. He was posted at DPL Rajouri.
In another case, a man identified as Jeet Kumar son of Lal Chand and resident of Rajpura received serious injuries after the bike he was riding on slip at Gura Slathia falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station, Vijaypur. He was shifted to Government Hospital in Vijaypur from where later he was referred to GMCH, Jammu.
In yet another incident held at Sarwal, a pedestrian namely Kashmiri Lal son of Chajju Ram and resident of New Plot got injured when he was hit by a mini-bus in Sarwal area of city outskirts. He is also undergoing treatment at GMCH, Jammu.
In all the three cases, the concerned police has taken cognizance of the matter and started investigations.
