POONCH, Mar 26: One person was killed and four others including driver were injured when a car ran over four persons the then went out of control and hit against a tree on Airfield Road here today.
Reports said that mishap took place when the car driver-Narjot Singh, son of Mohan Singh resident of Poonch was coming towards Bus Stand Poonch from Air Field side at around 12.30 pm in his Alto car No. JK12-A/0177. As he lost control on the car, he ran over four persons including two minor girls walking along the road side. The car was then hit against a wall.
While one person namely Mohd Rafiq (50), son of Ghulam Mohd resident of Qazi Morha was crushed to death on the spot, three other injured were rushed to district hospital Poonch. The leg of the driver Narjot Singh was also fractured and he sustained multiple injuries.
The injured victims were identified as Ikjot Kour (14), daughter of Narinder Singh; Mike Kour (13), daughter of Kulvinder Singh and Hanifa Bi, wife of Mohd Reyaz-all residents of Poonch. Three injured except Mike Kour, were referred to GMC Hospital, Jammu. Police has registered a case against the driver.
