JAMMU, Nov 14: One person was killed while four others were injured today in separate road accidents in different parts of Jammu region.
According to a police spokesperson, a bike rider received serious injuries when one of the heavy weight iron bars being carried by an unknown truck fell on him near Narwal area. The victim identified as Ajay Kumar (22) son of Rattan Kumar of Lam in Nowshera area of Rajouri district, was immediately shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where doctors declared him as brought dead.
According to a police spokesperson, an unknown vehicle today hit a bike rider at Rehari Chungi and left him injured. The victim identified as Arun Jain (22) son of Pramod Jain, a resident of Resham Ghar (Jammu) was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu.
In another case that took place at Dayalachak Bus stand, a Tractor trolley hit a bike rider, Palwinder Singh son of Balwant Singh of Dayalachak due to which he received serious injuries. He was also shifted to GMCH for treatment, where his condition is stated to be stable.
An accident also took place at Akhnoor Road near Mishriwala in which an unknown car hit the pedestrian Harvinder Singh (29) son of Ajit Singh of Punjab. In the mishap, Harvinder got serious injuries and was immediately shifted to GMCH.
A 21-years old youth got injured in Kathua area when he was hit by a truck while crossing the National Highway at Kathua. The victim identified as Lebbay son of Raj Mohd, a resident of Kathua, was rushed to District Hospital Kathua from where he was later referred to GMCH.
In all the cases, the concerned police has taken cognizance of the matter and started investigations.
