1 dies, 7 injured in road accidents

SRINAGAR, June 2: One person has died while seven others were injured in different road accidents across the Valley.
A police spokesman said five passengers were injured when a Xylo car, JK01Q-0164, rammed into a popular tree near High School Choora in Tarzoo Sopore. All the injured have been shifted to a hospital for treatment.
“Among the injured Mohammad Sidiq Wani of Kupwara succumbed to his injuries at SMHS Hospital, Srinagar,” the spokesman said.
A Maruti car, DL9CN-6441, hit a motorcycle, MHI2DV-8932, at Mattan market near JK Bank in Anantnag, resulting in injuries to the motorcyclist. The injured was shifted to a hospital for treatment.
A Tractor, JK05D/4264, rammed into fencing at Sagipora Sopore in Bomie, resulting in injuries to a pedestrian. The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment.
An unknown vehicle hit and injured 17-year-old Shazia Gaffar daughter of Abdul Gaffar Khan of Udhipora Langate near Batapora Crossing in Handwara. She was shifted to a hospital for treatment.
The spokesman said police has registered cases in thee accidents.
