1 dies, six injured in mishaps

Srinagar, Dec 19: One person died and six others were injured in different road accidents in Kashmir today.
Police said in Shopian, one Ghulam Qadir Khanday resident of Keller  died when a car hit him near Boys Higher Secondary School in South Kashmir’s Shopian district. Qadir was hit and injured by an over speedy car on his way home. He was immediately shifted to SKIMS Soura where he was declared dead.
In Kulgam, a Tata mobile bearing registration number JK03E-0578 hit and injured four pedestrians Mohammad Ibrahim Bhat, Mehbooba residents of Khrewan, Ghulam Mohammad Gangee resident of Wanpoh, and Abdul Rashid Bhat resident of Lassipora at Mirbazar Anantnag. All the injured were shifted to District Hospital Anantnag for treatment.
In Handwara, a vehicle bearing registration number JK09A-2285 hit and injured two teenage pedestrians Basit Lateef Shah resident of Vodhpora and Akeel Ashraf Mir resident of Jaggerpora at village Vodhpora in Handwara. Both the injured were shifted to hospital for treatment.
Cases have been registered by police in this regard.
