1 killed, 24 injured in road accidents

Srinagar, Nov 10: A person was killed while eleven others were injured in different road accidents across the Valley.
A police spokesman said a tipper JK13B-4571 collided with a Maruti van JK01J-7408 near Wahibugh village in Pulwama district, resulting in serious injuries to Maruti Van driver namely Manzoor Ahmed Parray and a lady namely Zeenat. “The injured driver succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital and the injured lady was shifted to District Hospital Pulwama for treatment. Police have registered a case in this regard,” the spokesman said.
A police official here said eight persons including four women were injured as SRTC bus turned turtle at Nowgam here in city outskirts. He said the SRTC bus JK01Y – 420, they were traveling in, skidded off the road and turned turtle near Railway Station in Nowgam after driver lost control over it. Though most of the passengers escaped unhurt get eight others were injured and shifted to hospital.
Meanwhile, the police spokesman said a Tata Sumo JK08A-4826 met with an accident at Jogigund in Achabal area of Anantnag district, resulting in injuries to seven passengers. All the injured were shifted to District Hospital Anantnag for treatment.
The spokesman said an unknown vehicle hit and injured a 12 year-old boy identified as Furkan Gani Khan near Chottipora Crossing in Handwara area of Kupwara district. The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment.
The spokesman said a Tavera vehicle Jk15-1109 hit a motorcycle in Bandipora district, resulting in injuries to motorcyclist namely Rameez Ahmed Sofi.  The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment.
He said a Maruti-800 JK01K-9289 hit and injured a person namely Abdul Gani Shiekh near Florence Hospital in Chanapora here in city outskirts. The injured was shifted to the hospital for treatment.
Police said five persons were injured at Charsoo in Awantipora area of Pulwama district after an i10 car fell into a stream. All the injured were rushed to SMHS hospital, the police added.
