JAMMU, Aug 31: A teenage girl died and 8 others sustained injuries after a minibus collided with a car at Gangyal area here today.
A police official said that the minibus (JK02BC-6681) collided head on with a Creta car (JK02AB-4800) near Bata Showroom at Gangyal area, resulting in injuries to nine persons.
One of them, an 18-year-old girl identified as Surbhi Kumari (18) daughter of Ashwani Kumar of Jallo Chak, Gangyal, was declared as dead on arrival at Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu, he said.
The injured who are undergoing treatment at GMC&H have been identified as Saina (16) daughter of Mohammad Rafiq of Kunjwani, Goutam Sharma (25) son of late Manoj Kumar of Chatha, Akesh Mohan (39) son of late Tilak Raj Mohan of Afghana Mohalla, Panjtirthi, Muskan Sharma (16) daughter of Rohi Dass of Ratnu Chak, Sarita (16) daughter of Upinder Ram of Dhyansar, Bari Brahamana, Nisha (16) daughter of Durga Swansi of Jharkhand at present Dhyansar, Bari Brahmana, Sumit Kumar (16) son of Mulkh Raj of Doda at present Bari Brahmana and Shivani (14) daughter of Raj Kumar of Kunjwani.
While all the injured have been hospitalised, police have registered a case under the relevant sections of the law at Police Station Gangyal and started further investigation.
