10 animals charred to death as cattle-shed catches fire

RAJOURI, Dec 13: Ten animals were charred to death in Kotli Kalaban area of Manjakot in a fire that broke out in the cattle-shed under mysterious circumstances last night.
Reports said the cattle-shed located near the house of villager caught fire mysteriously. The person noticed the smoke emitting from cow-shed and started crying for help. The people from surrounding areas gathered and they started extinguishing the fire.
The Fire Services authorities at Rajouri were also informed, but being about 20 km away from Rajouri, the fire brigade vehicles could not reach there on time. But the people at their own level tried their best to extinguish the fire but in vain.
About 10 animals were burnt to death as the fire in the cattle-shed had taken such a terrible form that it could not be extinguished.
The local people sought help from the district administration, as the domestic animals were the only support for the maintenance of victim’s family. Meanwhile, the police has taken cognizance and started investigation.
