SAMBA, Mar 7: District Police Samba foiled attempts to smuggle bovines by rescuing 10 animals at naka NHW Tapyal in two separate incidents in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Ghagwal.
Police said a team of PS Ghagwal laid a vehicle checking naka at NHW Tapyal and intercepted a Mahindra Bolero vehicle having registration number JK20A-1458 which was coming from Kathua side and heading towards Valley. During checking of the vehicle five bovines were found laden inside it without any permission.
All the bovines were rescued and shifted to safer place. The vehicle used for transporting the bovines was also seized on spot and case registered.
Similarly in another incident, police party of PS Ghagwal during checking duty at naka NHW Tapyal, rescued five more bovines which were being transported in a Mahindra Bolero bearing registration number, JK08H-4420 heading towards Valley.
All the bovines were rescued and shifted to safer place. The vehicle used for transportation of bovines was also seized on spot and case registered.
