10 bovines rescued, woman smuggler held

JAMMU, July 3: Akhnoor police today rescued 10 bovine animals and arrested one woman smuggler.
A police spokesman said that, on specific information, police party from Akhnoor Police Station laid a naka at Sungal Morh and intercepted two vehicles bearing registration numbers JK02AK-4264 and JK14C-3293.
During checking, police recovered ten bovine animals and arrested a woman smuggler, who has been identified as Meera Bibi, wife of Mohd Yussaf of Jaswan, he added.
Her accompliance Mohd Farooq, son of Bulla of Kheri, Bishnah and two others managed to flee from the spot, he said.
A case under FIR number 146/13 under Section 188 RPC, 3 PCA Act has been registered at Akhnoor Police Station and manhunt has been launched to arrest the absconding accused.
Police party led by SHO Mahesh Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Rayees Mohd Bhat.
