224 including 44 CRPF men test +ve for COVID-19

Srinagar, July 24: Kashmir today reported eight more deaths of COVID-19 positive patients taking the Jammu and Kashmir toll to 300 while 224 people tested positive in the Valley taking the number of positive cases in J&K to 16, 782.
A 65-year-old woman from Sopore today died at SMHS Hospital, couple of days after she was admitted to the hospital. She was suffering from bilateral pneumonia, HTN and T2DM.
A 65-year-old resident of Khaniyar Srinagar who was COVID positive also died at SMHS today.
A 65-year-old man from Maharaj Gunj Srinagar having bilateral pneumonia died at the SMHS Hospital today. He was admitted on July 22 and came out to be COVID-19 subsequently.
A 75-year-old man from Saderbal Srinagar died at SKIMS Soura, three days after he was admitted to the hospital. He was admitted to the hospital on July 21 later tested positive and died this morning.
A 70-year-old man from Rainawari died at CD Hospital here today. He was brought to casualty in gasping state at 12:35 pm today. His Pulse and BP was not recordable and was declared brought dead.
At SKIMS Bemina a 75-year-old woman from Peerbagh Srinagar died today. She was admitted to the hospital on July 14 after testing positive for COVID-19.
A 65-year-old woman from Malaknag area of Anantnag having underlying ailments including Rheumatoid arthritis, pneumonia and hypertension died, two days after she was admitted to the Government Medical College Anantnag. She was covid-19 positive and died early today.
An 80-year-old man from Sarnal Anantnag with AFI, HTN, and RTI pneumonia died at the GMC today. She was admitted to the hospital on July 19.
A 50-year-old woman from Tangmarg and 60-year-old woman from Dub Ganderbal died at SKIMS Soura today. The Ganderbal woman admitted on July 18. She was suffering from hypertension, pneumonia with ARDs and died due to cardio pulmonary arrest.
So far, 276 deaths have been reported in Kashmir and 22 in Jammu division.
Srinagar district with 82 deaths has the highest fatalities followed by Baramulla 62, Kulgam 26, Anantnag 21, 20 each in Shopian and Budgam, 16 each in Pulwama and Kupwara and five each in Bandipora and Ganderbal.
Kashmir today reported 224 new novel coronavirus cases taking the number of positive cases in J&K to1330.
They include 40 from Srinagar, two from Baramulla, 83 from Kulgam, 59 from Shopian, four from Pulwama and 36 from Bandipora.
An official said that 1342 samples were processed at the virology lab of the Chest Diseases Hospital and 160 tested positive. They include 3 pregnant women and 4 doctors. The positive cases include 89 from Srinagar, seven from Pulwama, 28 from Baramulla, eight from Kupwara, one from Ganderbal, nine from Bandipora, five from Budgam, eight from Anantnag and five from Kulgam.
An official said that 1628 samples were processed at the virology lab of the SKIMS Hospital and 170 tested positive. They include four returnees, 44 CRPF personnel and three staff of Central Jail, Srinagar. The positive cases are 46 from Srinagar, 16 from Anantnag, one from Bandipora, 52 from Budgam, four from Ganderbal, two from Baramulla, one from Kulgam, three from Pulwama and one from Ramban.
An official said that 440 samples were processed at the virology lab of the SKIMS Medical College Hospital Bemina and 38 tested positive, all from Bandipora
The officials that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 7269 including 5736 from Kashmir division and 1533 from Jammu division.
With 508 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 9217 which is 54.92 percent of the total cases which was over 63 percent few days before.
Srinagar district alone has 3648 positive cases which is more than the total number of positive cases in Jammu division where total cases are 3480.
As per officials figures, 3648 positive cases including 82 deaths and 1478 recoveries are from Srinagar, 1740 including 62 deaths and 1078 recoveries are from Baramulla, 1437 including 905 recoveries and 26 deaths are from Kulgam, 1352 including 20 deaths and 886 recoveries are from Shopian, 1131 including 21 deaths and 721 recoveries are from Anantnag, 1008 including 607 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Kupwara, 1132 including 571 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Pulwama, 984 including 517 recoveries and 20 deaths are from Budgam, 561 including 387 recoveries and 7 deaths are from Bandipora and 309 including 141 recoveries and 5 death are from are from Ganderbal.
