KATHUA, Dec 5: Ten dumpers were seized for illegal transportation of mining material in Kathua district today.
A team of the Mining Department, led by District Mineral Officer (DMO) Kathua, Rajinder Singh Rana, today visited multiple crushers in Kathua, which were dispatching minerals to Punjab.
During inspection, the DMO Kathua got to know that some of the dumpers were carrying expired e-challans of the crusher units with them.
Accordingly all the vehicles carrying minerals to Punjab without proper documents were seized and handed over to the police for realisation of penalty from them.
Meanwhile, the DMO Kathua has warned against operation and loading of the vehicles during the night hours.
Over 300 vehicles and heavy excavators have already been seized by the Department from Ujh, Tarnah, Sahar Khad, Ravi, and other areas in the District for their involvement in illegal transportation of the mining material.
