10 injured as Tata Sumo plunges into gorge

RAMBAN, Nov 24: Ten persons were injured, three of them seriously when a Tata Sumo skidded off the road and fell into a gorge near Sancha on Seri-Sancha link road late this evening.
According to a police official, a Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK19-0975 carrying passengers was on its way to village Sancha when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it skidded off the road near Sancha and fell into a deep gorge.
“In the mishap, 10 passengers including two women and one child injured. Locals with help of police shifted all the injured to District Hospital Ramban for treatment,” the official said.
He said the injured were identified as Chail Singh (42) son of Bhadur Singh of Ganote, Amrik Singh (25) son of Sewa Singh of Baliote, Kulbir Singh (30) son of Nain Singh of Baliote, Chaintamani (23) son of Suraj Singh of Sarbagni, Bhadur Singh (20) son of Ragubir Singh of Baliote, Kulbir Singh (28) son of Hari Singh of Baliote, Sheetal Devi (24) wife of Kulbir Singh of Baliote and Chail Singh (42) son of Jodh Ram, his wife Ambika Devi and his one and half years old daughter Rimpi.
“In this connection, a case under relevant sections has been registered at police station Ramban and investigation started”, the official added.
