SRINAGAR, Apr 27:
Ten residents of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) arrived here while four Kashmiris crossed over to other side of the Line of Control (LoC) to meet their relatives, separated in 1947 due to partition.
Seven returnees also crossed sides at Kaman post, the last Indian military post on this side of the LoC in Uri sector after crossing the Aman Setu, peace bridge on foot today.
Official sources said that 10 PoK residents, including three women and a children, arrived here to meet their relatives. A woman who had gone to PoK returned to her home after completing stay with her relatives across the border.
They said four Kashmiris crossed over to other side of the LoC. They included a woman. Six residents of PoK, who had arrived here in previous buses returned to their homes after completing stay here.
The cross border bus has helped thousands of divided families to meet each other since the service was started on April 7, 2005 when India and Pakistan Governments agreed to travel from residents of both the sides on Travel Permits instead of International passport.
However, it was agreed that only permanent residents of both the sides of J&K will be allowed to travel through this route after their names will be cleared from intelligence agencies from both the sides. (UNI)
