JAMMU, Jan 8: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) General Secretary Yudhvir Sethi today said that the party is quite sensitive to people’s issues and this was the reason that it believed in giving people a transparent Government for the time it stayed in power in Jammu and Kashmir and is continuing to do so in country.
Yudhvir Sethi was addressing a gathering of party workers at Canal Road, Jammu East where he said that recent decision of Union Government to give ten per cent quota to economically weak in general category is aimed at upliftment of society as a whole.
He while asking party workers to gear up for coming elections both State as well as general said the recent decision to reserve jobs for economically weaker sections from within upper casts was a long-standing demand but only the Modi Government had the courage to do it. Now children of brahmins, baniyas, Christians, Muslims and all others falling in this sphere will be benefited, he added.
Earlier, people of the area brought some mosques into the notice of Yudhvir Sethi and said that they were getting contaminated water through taps and because of low voltage in the area their electronic appliances were getting damaged. They also expressed concern over a public utility that has been abandoned and sought its early completion.
They also demanded protection boundary at Tawi side so that water doesn’t get into locality during floods. Several people were not getting their BPL Ration cards and they also demanded proper sanitation in the locality.
Yudhvir Sethi after listening to grievances of public assured that matter will be taken up with concerned departments and work on projects geared up.
Gurcharan Singh, Jeet Singh, Rajesh Dogra, Chaman Angral, Rajesh Sharma, Swarn Singh, Kartar, Narinder Agarwal and many others were present on the occasion.
