10 State youth make it to IAS

JAMMU/SRINAGAR, May 3: Ten youths from the State, eight from Kashmir and two from Jammu region, have made it to the prestigious Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Examination held by Union Public Service Commission for 2013.
Syed Sehrish Asgar has made it to the prestigious exam with 23rd rank, whileas Showkat Parray from Vizir Baramulla has made it with 41st rank. Other candidates from Valley who qualified the exam include Khurshid Ali Qadri with 95th rank, Naveed Tramboo with 386th rank, Abid Sadiq 501st rank, Amanullah Tak 571st rank and Dr Ruveda Salam Bajjad with 820th rank.
From Jammu region, Dr Iftihar Ahmed Choudhary, son of Joint Director Social Welfare Department (retd), Mohd Quresh Khatana residence of Ari in Mendhar Tehsil and Vikas Kundal, son of AN Kundal, Executive Engineer, PWD and Raj Kumari, residence of village Kharian of Miran Sahib have qualified the prestigious exam.
Vikas Kundal, who did his schooling from Army School, Miran Sahib, Graduation from MAM College, Jammu and post Graduation from Delhi had also qualified this examination last year. He has also qualified UGC JRF cum NET.
Khurshid Ali, who qualified the exam with 95th rank, dedicated his success to the hard work he had put in for this examination. Taking a tough combination of Botany and Geography for the mains examination Khurshid made it to IAS without coaching.
A lecturer of Botany in the School Education Department Khurshid had done his masters in Botany from Jamia Hamdard University Delhi and cleared the Junior Research Fellow(JRF)  examination and got appointed as a lecturer in the School Education Department.
Khurshid is already a KAS 2009 officer posted as Assistant Director Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD).
Another boy from Nawakadal Srinagar, Adnan Nayeem Asmi has also made it to the prestigious services with 189th Rank.
The 26-year-old Adnan did his graduation in Economics and Political Science from Saint Stephens College Delhi in 2009. Afterwards he dedicated his time towards the Civil Services and did coaching in Political Science from Waji Institute in Delhi and coaching in Sociology from Upendra Institue Delhi.
