KISHTWAR, May 12: Ten teachers were suspended in the mountainous Kishtwar district for unauthorised absence from their duties in two different Government institutions.
The suspension of erring teachers was ordered by the concerned Chief Education Officer (CEO) Kishtwar who while on a surprise inspection yesterday found that some teachers had marked their attendance through JK Attendance App in the morning but had left the institution afterwards without any intimation.

An order by the CEO stated that during a surprise inspection he found UPS Matoo Mohalla with teaching staff strength of 10 and student enrolment of 55 was locked and no teaching staff was present in the institution which reflected irresponsible behaviour and lackadaisical approach of the staff towards their legitimate duties.
In the order, the CEO further said that while going through the attendance on JK Attendance App it was found that eight teachers including Swarn Lata Sharma, Master; Safira Tahseen, Teacher Grade-II; Manzoor Hussain, Teacher Grade-II; Gazala Parveen, Teacher Grade-II; Irshad Ahmad Dar, Teacher Grade-II; Tasleem Kousar, Teacher Grade-II; Rahmat Khan, Teacher Grade-II and Shazia Bashir Khanday, Teacher Grade-II had marked their attendance through JK Attendance App in the morning and had left the institute after that without any intimation.
The CEO also found two teachers-Kanchan Devi, General Line Teacher and Romika Sen, REK absent on the JK Attendance App.
As per the order, the eight teachers who had marked their attendance in the morning and had thereafter left on unauthorised absence were placed under suspension with immediate effect and they were attached in the same institution till further orders.
As per the order, two staff members who have been found absent on JK Attendance App were directed to explain their position to the CEO Kishtwar within five days from the issuance of this order.
Meanwhile, the CEO Kishtwar received a video through social media regarding unauthorised absence of the staff at UPS Kijae, Zone Paddar and on inspection he found that there was teaching staff strength of 5 in the institute with enrolment of 38 and the institution was locked with no teaching staff present there at 10.05 am yesterday.
While going through the attendance on JK Attendance App it was found that three teachers Madan Lal, Teacher Grade-II; Suhail Akber Khateeb, Teacher Grade-II and Salma Batt, REK were unauthorisedly absent.
As per the order, the teacher Ikhlaq Ahmad Zargar, Teacher Grade-II had marked his check in attendance at 10.14 am and checked out at 3.45 pm which shows lackadaisical approach towards legitimate duties.
Taking a strict note of these facts, the CEO Kishtwar placed Madan Lal and Suhail Akber Khateeb under suspension for unauthorizedly absent from the duty and attached them in the same institution till further orders.
Further, Ikhlaq Ahmad Zargar, Teacher Grade-II was directed to explain his position regarding unpunctuality.
