JAMMU, Oct 8: Presiding Officer Fast Track Court Sanjeev Gupta today awarded 10 years rigorous imprisonment and fine of Rs 27000 to Deepak Raj, son of Tara Chand of village Dera tehsil Akhnoor for abduction and attempt to rape with a nine years old girl student on May 30, 2009.
After hearing APP GS Charak appearing for the State whereas Advocate JP Gandhi for the accused, Presiding Officer Fast Track Court observed, “after taking into consideration aggravating and mitigating circumstances available on the record, the accused is sentenced to undergo 10 years rigorous imprisonment for the commission of offences”.
