100-bedded block lying locked in Distt Hospital

UDHAMPUR, Nov 4: District Congress  Committee Udhampur has alleged that 100-bedded new block constructed in the premises of District Hospital Udhampur was still lying locked for the last over five years.
In a meeting of the DCC held here today under the chairmanship of former Minister and senior leader Jugal Kishore Sharma today, G L Basnotra president DCC SC/ST Cell  expressed serious concern over the lack of health facilities at Udhampur Hospital. He said hundred bed block in the district hospital complex Udhampur was inaugurated by the then Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad more than fives years back but unfortunately that block is still under lock. The concerned Medical Officials claim that they have yet to seek administrative approval for its functioning.  He condemned the attitude of the concerned authorities.
Mr Basnotra further alleged that Rs 10 lakh were provided by former  Dy Chairman of Legislative Council Arvinder Singh for installation of dialysis machine at Udhampur Hospital and funds for ambulance at Chenani and Basantgarh Hospitals but nothing has happened in this regard.
Senior party leaders, Brij Mohan Sharma and B S Pathania (Distt president)         also spoke on the occasion and projected demands of the people. They stressed for early elections of the Local Bodies and Block Development Councils. Jugal Kishore assured them to take up these issues with the concerned authorities vigorously.
