KATHUA, June 25 : In continuation to its preventive measures within the district, Kathua police under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua, R C Kotwal- today seized 100 bottles of illicit liquor near Radha Swami Satsang Bhawan Nagri and challaned 63 more people who violated the Government order in different forms.
In order to prevent the trade of illicit liquor in the district a police team led by Inspector, Rajesh Kumar incharge Police Post (PP) Nagri under the supervision of DySP Headquarters, Kathua Shammi Kumar during patrolling and naka checking duty near Radha Swami Satsang Bhawan, Nagri apprehended one person namely Shakti Kumar, son of Lt. Pakra of Ward No. 16 Kalibari Kathua.
During checking, 100 bottles of JK Special Whisky 180ml each were recovered from his possession.
All the recovered bottles of illicit liquor were seized and person was arrested. In this regard, a case FIR No 310/2021 U/S 48(f) Excise Act stands registered at PS Kathua and investigation taken up
Meanwhile, continuing its drive against the violators throughout the district Kathua police challaned 63 violators with a fine of Rs.27600 for violating the COVID-19 SOPs in the area.
