100 cases settled in Lok Adalat

KATHUA, Feb 28: A Lok Adalat was held at District Courts Complex under the chairmanship of Vinod Chatterji Koul, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Principal, District and Sessions Judge, in which 100 cases were settled.
On the occasion, two benches were constituted. The first bench was headed by Vinod Chatterji Koul himself and assisted by Sino Gupta, Additional District and Sessions Judge, Kathua. 4 MACT cases were settled and award money of Rs 3,40,600 was awarded to the claimant. 38 bank cases were settled and an amount of Rs 25,06,000 was awarded as recovery.
The second bench was headed by Deepak Sethi, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Kathua and Dinesh Gupta, District Mobile Magistrate, in which 58 cases of petty and compoundable nature were settled and an amount of Rs 16,000 was recovered as fine.
