UDHAMPUR, Aug 14: Police today seized 100 kg poppy straw, which was being smuggled from Kashmir to Punjab in a truck.
The truck, bearing number PB09S-7297 was intercepted at Jakheni naka point on the National Highway in the early this morning. The consignment was sealed in 100 packets of one kg each, which were to be delivered at Hoshiarpur in Punjab.
Two persons namely Lakhvinder Singh and Gurjeet Singh of Kapurthalla Punjab were arrested in this case.
An FIR number 313/2014 under section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Udhampur.
