100 RDD cement bags seized, Sarpanch absconds

RAJOURI, May 3: The police seized 100 cement bags belonging to Rural Development Department (RDD) when it was being pilferaged from a store and sold in the black-market this evening.
A police spokesman said that acting on a tip-off,  a tractor trolley was intercepted by police party near Kalal Kas, about 12 kms from here at around 7.30 pm. While driver managed to escape, one Liaqat accompanying the driver was nabbed by the cops.
The detained villager disclosed  that he purchased these cement bags from Sarpanch Balbir Singh on cheap rate. He also disclosed that he needed this cement for the construction of his shops.
The police seized tractor trolley along with 100 bags of Government cement and registered a case in this connection against Sarpanch Balbir Singh and shopkeeper Liaqat. The police was conducting raids at the hideouts of  Sarpanch to nab him.
