10+2 private candidates’ plea to Govt

JAMMU, Jan 23:  Parents of the 10+2 students appearing for 2015 Annual Examination as private candidates have demanded that the examination of their wards be held together with that of the regular candidates. They expressed serious concern that the examination of their wards may be delayed beyond the competitive examinations. Due to the floods, the 10+2  Biannual Examination has already been delayed by more than 3 months. The examination which was scheduled to be held in October 2014 is being held in January 2015.
The 10+2 Annual Exami-nation may also be delayed. Since the examination of the private candidates in annual batch is held after that of the regular candidates. If there is a delay of even a couple of months in the holding of the Annual Examination of the 10+2 regular candidates, there is every chance that the examination of the private candidates would be pushed to May 2015 and may extend to June 2015.
This one or two months delay in the examination of the 10+2 private candidates (Annual 2015) will seriously jeopardize the future of the candidates. Many meritorious candidates drop a year and appear as private candidates in this examination for an improved performance. The delay in the examination may disqualify them from many competitive examinations. These competitive examinations on the all India level stipulate that the candidates should have qualified 10+2 by June 2015.
The parents of the candidates have therefore demanded that the regular and the private examination of 10+2 Annual (Session 2015) be held simultaneously in March/April to safeguard the future of their wards. They appealed Governor, the authorities in the Education Department and Secretary BOSE Jammu to conduct the examination of the regular and private candidates for the Session 2015 together so that their future is not threatened.
