JAMMU, June 21: The 10th International Day of Yoga was celebrated with great enthusiasm across the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. The theme for this year’s Yoga Day was “Yoga for Self and Society”.
The Day was celebrated by District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Jammu under the guidance of Chairman, DLSA Jammu, Sanjay Parihar (Principal District & Sessions Judge) Jammu and overall supervision of Secretary, DLSA Smriti Sharma at Conference Hall of District Court Complex Jammu. Panel Lawyers, PLVs and the allied staff of the courts of District Jammu took part in the celebration. The different yoga asanas were performed under the guidance of a yoga team from Bhartiya Yog Sansthan Jammu. Similar Programmes were also organized by TLSC Bishnah, TLSC RS Pura and TLSC Akhnoor in their respective areas.
The Yoga Day event was also organized by DLSA Samba with greater zeal and fervor at District Court Complex Samba. Ravinder Mansotra and Shakti Sagar (Yoga experts from Art of Living) conducted the yoga sessions. The event was witnessed by Urvashi Raina (Additional Munsiff Samba), Nisha Rani (Deputy Legal Aid Defense Counsel Samba), president of Bar Association Samba, staff of District Court Complex Samba and others.
DLSA Kathua organized the Yoga day event at District Court Complex Kathua under the guidance of Chairman DLSA Ashok Kumar Shavan (Principal District & Sessions Judge Kathua). Rameshwar Sharma, the Yoga expert from Art of Living conducted yoga sessions. The event was attended by staff of Additional District & Sessions Judge Kathua, officers of Legal Aid Defense Counsel Kathua, staff of DLSA Kathua and Para Legal Volunteers of DLSA Kathua.
The Yoga Day was also observed at District Court Complex Rajouri. The event was organized by DLSA Rajouri under the supervision of Chairman DLSA Rajouri RN Wattal (Principal District & Sessions Judge, Rajouri) and under guidance of Secretary DLSA Rajouri Rayaz Ahmed Choudhary (Special Mobile Magistrate, Sub-Judge, Rajouri). DLSA Kargil conducted Yoga Day programme in District Court Kargil. The programme was attended by Malik Shabir Ahmad (Principal District & Sessions Judge Kargil), Munsiff Sankoo Shafeeq Mushtaq Lone, Secretary Kargil Legal Services Authority Fariqa Nazir and others. Incharge Zonal Physical Education Officer Kargil, Ibrahim Shoqi instructed the participants to practice various types or styles of yoga including Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga , Ashtanga Yoga and many more.
Central University of Jammu, in collaboration with Arogya Bharti, celebrated the Day by organizing an event which was also graced by Anil and Dr Rama. Anil demonstrated various yoga postures and elaborated on the profound significance of yoga in one’s life. Besides, Prof Yashwant Singh (Director, Directorate of Physical Education), the event was attended by students, faculty members and other staff members of the University.
Department of Dean Students Welfare at Cluster University of Jammu (CLUJ), in collaboration with Government SPMR College of Commerce and Indian Science Congress Chapter Jammu celebrated the 10th International Yoga Day. The event was attended by distinguished guests including Principal of the College Prof (Dr) Rajinder Singh and other faculty members and staff members of the College and CLUJ. The yoga session was led by Raman Sharma (pharmacist at the college).
The Yoga Day event was also organized by Directorate of Physical Education & Sports, University of Kashmir. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty and staff. The celebration was held under the patronage of Vice Chancellor Prof Nilofer Khan nominated as the chief guest while Prof Naseer Iqbal, Registrar of the University graced the occasion as guest of honor. The event featured yoga sessions with full adherence to the international protocol, which included guided meditation and yoga postures, reflecting the day’s theme.
SKUAST Jammu organized a yoga session in the lawns of Students Centre Main campus Chatha, in which students and faculty members participated. Vice Chancellor Prof BN Tripathi was chief guest cum participant accompanied by Registrar cum Dean Faculty of Agriculture Dr Anil Kumar and other HoDs and faculty members. Daksh Minocha from Art of Living rendered services as Yoga instructor.
AIIMS Jammu celebrated the Day with great enthusiasm and fervor at its campus. The event was graced by the presence of MP Jugal Kishore Sharma (Member of Institute body) who was the chief guest for the occasion. The celebration witnessed the participation of all dignitaries, including the Executive Director, Medical Superintendent, Deans, Faculty, Staff, Nursing Officers, and other members of the AIIMS community. The event commenced with an address by the Executive Director and CEO of AIIMS Jammu, Prof (Dr) Shakti Kumar Gupta. Expert instructors, headed by Prof (Dr) T R Raina, led a comprehensive yoga session. This was followed by a meditation session taken by Dr Ranjana (Central University Jammu).
The University of Kashmir (KU) joined global celebrations with an event organized by the Directorate of Physical Education and Sports (DPES). The event adhered to the theme “Yoga for Self and Society,” featuring Yoga sessions, guided meditation, and various Yoga asanas. KU’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof Nilofer Khan, highlighted Yoga’s significance in modern life, emphasizing its role in achieving inner peace and resilience. The celebration, attended by faculty, staff, and students, aimed to integrate Yoga into daily routines to promote holistic health and wellness.
Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), Jammu celebrated 10th International Yoga Day with enthusiasm with this year’s theme ‘Yoga for Self and Society.’ Prof. Anil Saumitra, Regional Director, IIMC, Jammu welcomed special guests Anil Sharma, Sangathen Mantri, BYS and Dr. Ranjana Verma from Bharatiya Yog Sansthan (BYS). Anil Agrawal talked on the need and benefits of Yoga. The event concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. Dilip Kumar, Associate Professor, IIMC Jammu.
The Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) celebrated International Yoga Day with a special event attended by students and staff. Vice Chancellor IUST, Prof. Shakil Ahmad Romshoo emphasized that Yoga promotes individual well-being and social harmony. The event was organized by the Directorate of Physical Education and Sports where Dr. Hilal Ahmad Rather, Assistant Director of DoPE, demonstrated various Yoga postures.
NIT Srinagar marked the Yoga Day with enthusiasm at its campus, where Director Prof A Ravinder Nath led a Yoga session. Emphasizing Yoga’s benefits for physical health, mental clarity, and emotional stability, Prof Nath encouraged its adoption for a balanced lifestyle. The event, attended by students, faculty, and staff, included various Yoga asanas and meditation techniques, underscoring the practice’s importance in promoting overall well-being.
IIM Jammu commemorated the 10th International Day of Yoga (IDY) at its City Campus Jammu. The event was organized under the aegis of Anandam – The Centre for Happiness at IIM Jammu. The celebration commenced with the lighting of ceremonial lamp by the Yoga Guru Sahil Mehra, Yogatvam. Prof BS Sahay (Director, IIM Jammu) presided over the event. The yoga session began with practice of various asanas, including standing, sitting and lying postures, guided by Sahil Mehra and his team.
IIT Jammu marked the occasion with a vibrant and engaging celebration, emphasizing the importance of physical and mental wellness. The event featured distinguished resource persons, Dr Maya Prajapat (a certified Yoga Instructor), Sourabh Sharma (manager, Reliance Jio) and a certified Heartfulness Meditation Trainer. Dr Maya and Sourabh Sharma conducted Yoga and meditation sessions. PhD scholars from IIT Jammu demonstrated various asanas on stage.
Senior BJP leader Devender Singh Rana today participated in a mega yoga Day event organized at Khel Gaon, Nagrota. The event was attended by nearly one thousand Yoga enthusiasts. Addressing the media persons at the side-lines of the event, Rana said that apart from improving overall physical health and increasing strength, Yoga contributes to mental growth and well-being besides combating anxiety. He said the practice of yoga fosters a sense of unity and community and participation in the yoga sessions brings individuals from diverse backgrounds together, promoting a sense of oneness and mutual understanding.
Chief spokesperson of J&K BJP Mahila Morcha Ritika Trehan today along with party activists observed International Yoga Day in Bahu constituency. Several Yoga protocol and exercise for upper and lower respiratory tract, lower back ache, right postural for pregnant lady, gastrointestinal tract and various relaxation posture etc. were demonstrated and executed by Yoga instructor. Speaking on the occasion, Ritika appealed everyone to inculcate and imbibe to practice regular Yoga for a healthier life.
Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu joined hands with newly formed Alumni association “Friends of GMC Jammu” to celebrate International Yoga Day. The event was well attended by the distinguished alumni members, ex-faculty, faculty, members of the hospital administration and medical students. Dr Sandeep Dogra in his opening address spoke on the power and reach of alumni. Dr Ashutosh Gupta in his address spoke on the impact of his own alumni on him and the inspiration he drew from it.
Government Polytechnic Jammu celebrated 10th International Day of Yoga. The chief guest was Principal, Er. Arun Bangotra. Welcome address was given by NSS Programme Officer, Dheeraj Kumar. Yoga session was conducted by Vinay Kumar, Instructor. Yogananda College of Engineering & Technology (YCET) celebrated 10th International Day of Yoga. Speaking on the occasion K.R Sharma talked on the importance of Yoga. Jamwal Group of Educational Institutions (JGEI), Jammu Chairman, Vidhi Singh Jamwal, Vice-Chairman, Shiv Dev Singh Jamwal, Managing Director, Renu Bangroo, Dr. (Prof.) Mukesh Kumar Rana, Director YCET, Dinesh Gupta, Dean Academics, YCET and Chief Coordinator, B.R Verma appreciated the initiative taken by YCET to celebrate International Day of Yoga with enthusiasm.
Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Pharmacy (RGIP), Jammu celebrated International Yoga Day with a series of activities that brought together students, faculty and community members. On this occasion Director RGIP Jammu, Dr. Heena Jamwal said: “International Yoga Day is a wonderful opportunity for us to come together as a community and celebrate the profound benefits of Yoga.” Ayush Katoch said that adoption of Yoga in one’s life will not only improve physical health but also provides relief against stresses of daily life. Government College for Women Gandhi Nagar, Jammu celebrated 10th International Yoga Day with enthusiasm. Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. S.P Sarswat, Principal of the College, the event drew participation from over 100 students, including NCC cadets from 1 JK Naval Unit, 1 JK Girls Battalion, 2 JK Girls Battalion, NSS students and dedicated faculty members. Tarun, Yoga Instructor guided the participants about various Yoga Asanas. Prof. Vijender Sharma, Staff Secretary of the College also spoke on the occasion.
The International Yoga Day was celebrated at GDC Marh under the direction of Prof. Dr. Rakesh Kumar Koul, Principal of the College. A Yoga session was organised in which the Physical Training Instructor, Ravi Kumar, Physical Director demonstrated Yoga Asanas. Prof. Sachin Bhagat, NSS PO, Prof Asha Kumari, Dr Balwinder Saini and Dr Priya Sharma, Scout and Guide leader also demonstrated some Yoga Asanas.
GDC Ramgarh celebrated International Yoga Day under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra, Principal of the College. The event was coordinated by Nodal Officer, Prof. Brham Dutt (NSS) and it began with Yoga session by Ashok Kumar.
Government Degree College Khour celebrated International Day of Yoga by organising Yoga session under the guidance of Prof. Sunil Kumar, PTI. Principal of the College, Prof. (Dr.) T.K Sharma stressed to promote a balanced, healthy and spiritual life style. GDC Ramnagar celebrated International Yoga Day by organizing day-long activities under the guidance of Prof. (Dr) Bhavnaish Chand, Principal GDC Ramnagar. Degree College Ghagwal participated in a mega Yoga event at Narsingh Dham Yoga Kendra in collaboration with the staff of Accidental Hospital Ghagwal. The NSS Unit of GDC Majalta organized a workshop on Yoga to celebrate International Yoga Day. The programme commenced with inaugural address by Principal, Prof. Dr. Shalini Sharma. Yoga Instructor, Yash Paul conducted a live Yoga demonstration guiding the participants on various Asanas, Pranayama and meditation practices. Over 50 NSS volunteers and faculty members including Dr Chander Mohan, Prof. Dalip and Prof. Naresh, Vinod Kumar and Jasvinder Singh participated in the event. GDC Jourian celebrated International Day of Yoga and organised a programme in which students and staff members were engaged in various Yoga postures and breathing exercises. Principal of the College, Dr Anuradha Pandoh said that Yoga is not merely a physical exercise but a holistic approach towards achieving inner peace. Around 50 students participated along with staffers Dr Suresh Sharma, Prof Neeraj Verma, Prof. Archana Sharma, Dr. Sheetal Sharma, Rumma Salgotra and Rakshit Sharma.

Government Deputy SP Aman Thakur Memorial Degree College Kastigarh celebrated International Yoga Day under the guidance of Prof. Koshal Kumar Mangotra, Principal of the College. GDC Udhampur participated in a live interaction with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, organized under the theme “Sashakt Yuva- Saiddh Jammu and Kashmir. Over 200 students, including NCC and NSS cadets, attended the event. Principal Prof (Dr) Romesh Kumar Gupta lauded the event’s success and the dedication of everyone involved. The College also organized a district-level yoga session at Subash Stadium.
NSS unit of GDC Vijaypur celebrated the Yoga Day with over 50 volunteers performing yoga asanas, guided by the Principal of the College Prof (Dr) Vandana Gupta and coordinated by faculty members. Both institutions emphasized yoga’s role in health and well-being.
GDC Marheen celebrated the International Yoga Day with NSS volunteers demonstrating various yog asanas, supported by the Principal, Prof (Dr) Anupama Gupta’s encouragement. She encouraged the students to perform yoga daily and enlightened them about the benefits of the yoga.
GDC Dudu Basantgarh organized a yoga session emphasizing the three main elements of yoga: moving, breathing, and meditation. Students and faculty participated actively, performing asanas like Surya Namaskar and Kapal Bhati. The event highlighted yoga’s physical and mental benefits and concluded with a vote of thanks.
Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board in collaboration with Department of JK Tourism celebrated Yoga Day with great fervour and enthusiasm at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Sports Complex, Katra. Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB), Anshul Garg said that making Yoga a way of life would go a long way for staff and other stakeholders in enhancing the efficiency and efficacy in management of hassle-free pilgrimage to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine round the clock.
Jammu Club marked International Yoga Day with a vibrant and enthusiastic celebration, bringing together more than 50 participants, including members and employees of the Club. The event was meticulously organized under the supervision of Ramesh Kumar (vice president of the Club and Divisional Commissioner Jammu) and the Managing Committee led by Gaurav Gupta, Secretary of the Club. The program commenced early in the morning, with participants gathering in the serene environment of the Club premises. The session included a variety of Yoga Asanas, Pranayama, and meditation techniques, guided by Anu Mahajan, an experienced yoga instructor.
Directorate of Tourism Jammu, in collaboration with Jammu Tawi Golf Course Sidhra, District Administration Jammu, AYUSH J&K, J&K Sports Council and Directorate of School Education Jammu, celebrated the International Yoga Day at the picturesque Jammu Tawi Golf Course, Sidhra. The event saw enthusiastic participation from around 200 attendees, including students, officials, and stakeholders, who engaged in yoga asanas with great interest. Sunaina Mehta (Joint Director Tourism, Jammu), Manav Gupta (Secretary, Jammu Tawi Golf Course), Savita Chouhan, (Deputy Director Tourism, Publicity) and other senior officers attended the event. Additionally, the Yoga Day celebrations were held at multiple tourist locations across the Jammu Division by officials from the Directorate of Tourism Jammu and Tourism Development Authorities, including Katra, Patnitop, Surinsar Mansar, Bhaderwah, and Kishtwar.
FICCI FLO JKL celebrated International Yoga Day in collaboration with Amar Singh Club. The event saw enthusiastic participation from members of FLO JKL and Amar Singh Club. The session was led by distinguished Yoga instructors Shally Kour, Manik Salathia and Ashok Gupta, Joint Secretary, Indian Yoga Association, J&K. Ruchika Gupta, Chairperson FICCI FLO JKL expressed gratitude to Anil Kapahi, Secretary Amar Singh Club and Vikram Puri, Executive Committee Member. After soulful mantra chanting was session of Sukshma Vyayam and Yoga practices. All resource persons and Anil Kapahi were felicitated at the end of the event.
The resilient Gunners of the Ace of Spades Artillery Brigade marked the Yoga Day with great enthusiasm at Rane Hawai Patti, Rajouri, underscoring the importance of physical and mental well-being. The event commenced with a yoga session conducted by certified yoga instructors, focusing on various asanas and pranayamas. A special meditation session was also included, designed to help soldiers develop effective stress management techniques, vital for their high-pressure roles.
JIAR in association with Arogya Bharti Jammu celebrated the Day along with other colleges of Shri Sain Charitable Trust for Higher Education. Students of JIAR also participated in a function organized by Directorate of Ayush at MA Stadium, Jammu. Abhishek Sharma (State organizing secretary, Arogya Bharti Jammu) along with Suman Sharma, (chairperson, Shri Sain Charitable Trust) inaugurated the program. Students performed various Yoga Asanas.
The 10th International Day of Yoga was celebrated at the newly established campus of IGNOU Regional Centre at Rajinder Vihar, Bantalab, Jammu. Dr. Shreyansh Kumar Jain, Internationally acclaimed Yoga expert and State Chairman, International Yoga Association was the chief guest on the occasion. Dr Jai Prakash Verma, Regional Director, Tejinder Pal Singh, Deputy Registrar, Dr Vikram Singh, ARD, Dr Asha Upadhyay, ARD, Rajesh Mohan, Assistant Registrar, Dara Singh, Section Officer, Staff of RC and students participated in the yoga day celebrations.
Youth Services and Sports Department marked the Yoga Day with fervor and great enthusiasm. Under the overall supervision of Secretary Sarmad Hafeez, the celebrations were organized meticulously across all 22 districts of the Union Territory. A multitude of boys, girls, and field staff from the Department showcased their great interest towards Yoga by performing various asanas at different venues. Director of the Department Subash Chander Chhibber, Deputy Director Central, Joint Director Kashmir, Joint Director Jammu and other officers and officials of YSS took part in various functions organized in connection with Yoga Day.
On International Yoga Day, Police Technical Training Institute (PTTI) Vijaypur organized a “Yoga Session” at PTTI Parade Ground for the staff and trainees. G L Choudhary, ML Sharma and Jagat Ram Yoga Instructors, experts from Bhartiya Yog Sansthan Jammu demonstrated various yoga exercises which were followed by the staff and trainees who took part in the Yoga session with great interest.
Vishwa Yog Sansthan marked International Yoga Day with a grand celebration at Bagh-e-Bahu, Hari Ki Pauri, Jammu. The event was attended by a diverse group of participants including students, local residents and guests. Former deputy chief minister Kavinder Gupta was chief guest of the event. The event was also graced by Viney Gupta (BJP president, Jammu Province) and Bansi Lal Gupta (ex-corporator).
The J&K BJP Mahila Morcha, led by President Sanjita Dogra, commemorated the Yoga Day at Janana Park, Kachi Chawni, Jammu. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from the Mahila Morcha team, including State vice president & prabhari Mahila Morcha Anuradha Charak, and several other prominent members. Addressing the gathering, Sanjita Dogra highlighted this year’s theme, “Yoga for Self and Society,” underscoring yoga’s role in promoting individual well-being and social harmony.
NHPC Regional Office in Jammu organized a yoga camp featuring enthusiastic participation from officers and employees. The session, guided by a yoga instructor, emphasized incorporating yoga into daily routines for physical and mental health.
Central Government Pensioners’ Welfare Association, Jammu (CGPWA) celebrated the Yoga Day with enthusiasm. In collaboration with Gandhinagar Morning Walkers and Punjab National Bank (PNB), they organized a one-hour morning session with about a hundred senior citizens and members participating. The session was led by Ravinder Sharma (president, Bhartiya Yog Sansthan, Gandhinagar Branch) along with Shyam Gupta and Vijay Phoa.
JKSCERT Divisional Office Jammu celebrated International Yoga Day. Joint Director, Prof. Dr Sindhu Kapoor led the celebrations along with the staff members at SCERT, Divisional Office Jammu on the theme “Yoga for Self and Society” highlighting the dual role of Yoga in fostering Individual and societal well-being. Dr Sanjeevani Sharma Assistant Prof. JKSCERT Jammu acted as Yoga Instructor who conducted the whole event.
The Composite Regional Centre (CRC) Jammu witnessed a jubilant celebration of International Yoga Day, as staff members, children with special needs, and their parents came together to embrace the therapeutic benefits of yoga. Dr Rohnika Sharma, Director CRC Jammu extended to all participants, emphasizing the unity in diversity and the universal appeal of yoga. Throughout the morning, attendees engaged in various yoga sessions tailored to cater to different abilities, led by Dr Devedika Pada, Lecturer in Physiotherapy who specialize in adaptive yoga techniques.
The 10th International Day of Yoga was celebrated at Dulhasti Power Station. The officers & employees of the power station and their family members participated in the programme led by Suresh Kumar, General Manager (In-Charge), Dulhasti Power Station. He encouraged everyone to adopt yoga in their daily routine of life. Dr Dipankar Deb, General Manager (Medical Services), K. V Shiva Kumar, General Manager (Elect.), Mukesh Kumar, Deputy General Manager (Mech.), Sivanshu Rastogi, Deputy General Manager (Finance), Sanjay Kumar Gupta, Group Senior Manager (Elect.), Davinder Koundel, Group Senior Manager (HR) were present on the occasion.
Nehru Yuva Kendra Udhampur celebrated International Day of Yoga at Subhash Stadium, Udhampur. In addition, yoga activities in different blocks were organized by NYK affiliated youth clubs and CBOs. At the District Level, Lal Chand (DDC Chairman) attended the event as chief guest along with Saloni Rai (Deputy Commissioner), Joginder Singh (SSP), Khushal Gupta (DYO) and all the district officers. The youth volunteers of NYK Udhampur participated at different locations including Town Hall Ramnagar, PDA Hut Dudu, Manwal, Baredian and different iconic locations.
Nations Development Association (NDA) affiliated with NYKS under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India celebrated Yoga Day. Swarn Singh Charak Chairperson NDA J&K demonstrated various Yoga Asanas in front of the Organization members. Sushil Singh Charak Founder cum Chief Functionary Nations Development Association (NDA), in his message, highlighted the significance of Yoga in discovering inner peace, transforming body and mind.
India Post has celebrated the 10th International Day of Yoga at Meghdoot Bhawan, Jammu in the presence of Col Vinod Kumar, Postmaster General Jammu Region. Lokesh Kumar, yoga expert & teacher from Jammu University staged as instructor. Col Vinod Kumar said that yoga connects one with the whole universe of positive energy through yogic postures and breathing exercises.
International Yoga Day was celebrated under the aegis of Fire and Fury Corps at Sonam Wangchuk Stadium, Leh. The event was organized by Leh Sub Area for troops in alignment with the Fit India Movement. As part of human wellness, General Officer Commanding, Leh Sub Area along with 550 troops of Armed Forces attended the yoga session to hone their skills of mastering the mind and stress management.
The Day was also celebrated at Air Force Station Leh. Air Warriors trained as Yoga Instructors with their expertise conducted the mass yoga event by following the common yoga protocol sequence. Sergeant Kripal Singh, Yoga instructor gave an introductory talk on the importance and health benefits of practicing Yoga.
Ramakrishna Mission, Jammu celebrated the International Day of Yoga, a global celebration of the ancient Indian practice of yoga. Around 100 people performed Yoga at Vivekananda Auditorium at Ramakrishna Mission with the demonstration by the members of Bharatiya Yoga Sansthan. Distinguished guests were Swami Yajnadharananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Jammu, Ravi Sharma and Kalpana Mehta from Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari, Arun Pachananda and Vijay Sharma from Bharatiya Yoga Sansthan and Malti Sharma.
Sainik School Nagrota celebrated the Day with great enthusiasm and participation. The event was presided over by Capt (Indian Navy) Shibu Devasia, Principal of Sainik School Nagrota, who highlighted the significance of yoga in enhancing flexibility and resilience as a way of life. Major Somnath Sharma PVC Stadium, where resident staff and students gathered to engage in a captivating yoga session. The session was expertly conducted by Hav (APTC) Druva HS and Hav (APTC) Shashi Kapoor.
Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) celebrated International Yoga Day in collaboration with Sangam Tru Art production. The program was inaugurated by Dr Tara Singh Charak, Former Deputy Director, Health Department J&K Government. VK Magotra, Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Government of India and RP Amla, event director were the guest of honours. Dr ML Dogra, Chairman, BLSKS highlighted the importance of the Day.
To celebrate the Yoga Day, Volleyball Association of J&K organized sports meet to promote the concepts aimed at fostering the spirits of national unity and communal harmony, balanced diet, yoga etc at Play Field, Shastri Nagar (Jammu). Dr. Shashikant Goswami (nutrition expert) delivered a key note address on nutrition with special reference to budding players on the occasion as a chief guest.
