JAMMU, Oct 28: Indian Dental Association (IDA), Jammu in collaboration with Indira Gandhi Government Dental College (IGGDC), Jammu and Institute of Dental Sciences (IDS), Jammu, is organizing 10th State and Inter-state Dental Conference from October 31 to November 2, 2014 at Jammu.
This was disclosed today by Dr Romesh Singh, Principal, IGGDC Jammu, in a press conference held here today. He informed that more than 500 delegates are expected from all over North India to participate in this mega event.
He said though the main venue of the event would be Zorawar Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu, where scientific deliberations, cultural programmes and poster presentation will be held, yet many events regarding the conference would be held at IGGDC Jammu and IDS Jammu.
Dr Singh said, “Pre-conference courses and workshops would be held on October 31, 2014 at IGGDC and IDS Jammu, simultaneously. These courses will benefit the budding dentists as well as established practitioners. There will be scientific deliberations on the theme “Latest Trends in Dentistry”.
This conference will help the doctors to showcase their talents as well as make them aware of the latest innovations and technological advancements in the field of dentistry, he added.
Dr Gautam Sharma, general secretary, IDA, told the media persons that the major dental products, equipments and instruments manufacturing companies are participating in this conference and will be exhibiting their gadgets as well as new innovations.
He said that a team of doctors from IDA, IGGDC and IDS Sehora are working day and night to make this event a great success. He also said that more than 90% population is suffering from Gum diseases, 70% from dental caries and 30% from oral cancer, so our stress during this conference will be on the methods to prevent such diseases.
Scientific deliberations are planned to address these concerns both at curative and preventive level. He informed that main motive during this conference will be to train the dentists for better delivery of better dental care to the masses.
Others present during the press conference includes Dr Ritesh Gupta, Dr Arvind Mengi, Dr Rajiv Mengi, Dr Ajay Gupta, Dr Bhavna Kaul and Dr Manik Sharma.
