RAJOURI, Aug 6: Foiling an attempt of bovine smuggling, Thannamandi Police arrested a smuggler and rescued 11 animals, here today.
Reports said that during naka checking under the supervision of SDPO Thannamandi, Dr Imtiaz Hussain, a Police party led by SHO Thannamandi, Inspector Shoket Hussain intercepted one vehicle (Junga bearing Registration number JK11F-6571).
During search, 11 bovine animals were found loaded in the vehicle, which was being driven by Mohd Tazeem son of Mohd Latief of Behrote and was on way from Rajouri side towards Kashmir valley.
The animals were loaded without DM permission and in a very cruel manner. Police rescued all the animals and seized the vehicle besides arresting its driver. In this connection, a case FIR number 113/2022, under section 188/IPC 11/PCA Act has been registered at Thannamandi Police Station.
