KATHUA, Jan 10: In continuation to drive launched against the bovine smugglers under the supervision of Pawan Parihar senior Superintendent of Police Kathua a police party of P P Hatli yesterday during patrolling received an information regarding the smuggling of bovine animals by one Mohammed Tayav S/o Jamat Ali of Rangoora tehsil and district Jammu.
According to police Tayav was taking bovine animals from Punjab to Kashmir via Berian Pattan.
On the basis of this information the police party laid a naka at Maggar Khad and intercepted one truck bearing registration number JK02AL-2196. On noticing the police naka, driver of the truck managed to escape from the spot by taking advantage of the darkness, police said. But police seized the truck and rescued 11 oxen loaded inside mercilessly. The police also launched a manhunt to arrest the accused. A case FIR No 08/2015 U/S 188, 295-A RPC 3/5 PCV Act has been registered at P S Kathua, police added.
