11 buffaloes die mysteriously

SAMBA, June 17: Eleven buffaloes died while grazing in the fields in Ramgarh area, under mysterious circumstances this evening.
The incident took place at around 5.30 pm today when some cattle belonging to three Gujjar families, were grazing in the fields at village Bandral, under Ramgarh police jurisdiction. All the eleven buffaloes fell down one after another on the ground and died. All the family members rushed to the fields after their children grazing cattle, told them about the incident. They were shocked to see it happening but could not help.
They reported the matter to Ramgarh police. A police party from Ramgarh Thana led by SHO, K K Sharma reached there. The Animal Husbandry officials were also informed. It was suspected that animals had eaten some poisonous bushes along with grass and died instantly. The police however, has registered a case in this connection.
Out of the total, six buffaloes belonged to Sher Ali, three were owned by Taj Ali whereas, two belonged to Sain Mohd-all residents of Bandral village in Ramgarh.
