11 gamblers arrested at Ambphalla, Paloura

JAMMU, Sept 27: Police today arrested 11 gamblers at Ambphalla Chowk and Paloura in two separate raids conducted by Rehari Police Post and Janipura police stations respectively.
Rehari police arrested five gamblers from Ambphalla Chowk. They have been identified as Ashwani Khajuria son of Des Raj R/o Nagrota, Naseeb Singh son of Baldev Singh R/o Nagrota, Nazir Ahmad son of Kaka R/o Kattal Battal, Kandoli Nagrota, Rakesh Sharma son of Bal Krishan Sharma of Nadori, Kandoli Nagrota and Ashok Kumar son of Hira Lal R/o Khanna Chadgal, Jhajjar Kotli.
Police recovered stake money worth Rs 18,427 from their possession. They have been booked under the Gambling Act.
Police party that arrested the gamblers was headed by Incharge Rehari Police Post Sub Inspector (Probationer) Sumit Sharma, Head Constable Doulat Raj, SGCT Kewal Sharma, Constables Pardeep Singh, Swaran Singh and Anil Kumar and SPO Ashwani Kumar under the supervision of SDPO City Kulbir Handa and SHO Pacca Danga Inspector Mahesh Sharma.
Janipura police also arrested six gamblers from Paloura and recovered Rs 2900 from them. They have been identified as Rakesh Kumar son of Mohan Lal, Rishi Kumar son of Balak Ram, Raman Kumar son of Ashok Kumar, Anil Kumar son of Kaka Ram, Vikram Kumar son of Baldev Raj and Vikram Kumar son of Paras Ram, all residents of Paloura.
Police party headed by SHO Janipura Inspector Niaz-ul-Hassan made the arrests.
