NOWSHERA, Sept 16: In a major set back to encroachers, a Forest team headed by Range Officer, Nowshera Sudesh Kumar, along with Assistant Director of Forest Protection Force, Police team under the guidance of ASP Nowshera and Naib-Tehsildar, Qila Darhal today retrieved 11 hectares of Forest land.
An official spokesman said that the said land which falls under Compartment No. 86 of Nowshera Range, was fenced immediately after the operation was over. Initially, the encroachers posed tough resistance and tried to disrupt the fencing work by creating law & order problem but whole situation was tackled with joint efforts of Forest Staff, Policemen, Revenue and FPF officials.
The whole operation was carried out under the supervision of Suresh Manda, DFO Nowshera and Conservator of Forests, West Circle, Jammu.
