RAMBAN, Apr 8: Eleven persons were injured when their vehicles met with accident in different areas, falling under the jurisdiction of Batote Police Station.
As per police sources, a Tavera car bearing registration number was on its way to Jammu from Kishtwar, when the driver lost control over the Tavera car while overtaking another car and the Tavera car plunged into gorge near Barthal area, causing injuries to eight passengers.
After getting information, police team rushed to the spot and rescued the injured persons.
All the eight injured persons were shifted to hospital, from where seven were later referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu for advanced treatment.
The injured persons have been identified as Ajit Kumar (driver), son of Fakir Chand of Hidyal, District Kishtwar, Tirth Ram, son of Suraj Ram of Padder, District Kishtwar, Diksha, daughter of Deepak Kumar of District Kishtwar, Om Parkash, son of Jodh Ram of Hidyal, District Kishtwar, Akash, son of Ajit Kumar of Hidyal District Kishtwar, Shyam Lal, son of Beshambar Nath of Jagti, Tehsil Nagrota, District Jammu, Sajan Kumar, son of Ajit Kumar of Hidyal District Kishtwar, Ajay Kumar, son of Somi Raj of District Kishtwar.
Meanwhile, three persons were injured, when the Eco car bearing registration number JK02AB-9392, they were traveling in, met with accident at Haldanoo Nallah, falling under the jurisdiction of Batote Police Station.
The injured persons identified as Suresh Kumar, son of Basant Raj of Panchchaie Tehsil Thathri, Darshan Singh, son of Pushpinder Singh and Bimbal Kumar, son of Shiv Lal, both residents of Halyar Tehsil Assar District Kishtwar were rushed to hospital, from where they were later referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu for specialized treatment.
Cases under relevant Sections have been registered at Batote Police Station and investigation started.
