KATRA, July 7: A team of officers, led by SDM Katra Neelam Khajuria, today conducted nakas at check post Moori, Panthal, Sool and seized 11 quintals of banned polythene carry bags and poly sheets of less than 50 micron at these locations.
A fine of Rs 5000 was imposed on the defaulters besides keeping the seized material in the custody of Sub Divisional Magistrate Katra till its disposal.
Other officers of the team, included Divisional Officer Pollution Control Board Angrez Singh, AD Forest Protection Force, Police officers and other officials.
It was informed that the seizure of 11 quintals of polythene sheets and rain coats, would be forwarded to the Regional Director State Pollution Control Board for confiscation and further action under the rules.
