12 bovine animals along with 3 vehicles seized

RAJOURI, June 30: The police today foiled three separate bovine smuggling bids in Rajouri district rescuing 12 bovines from the possession of smugglers.
Official sources said that a police team headed by SI, Raza Ali from Lam police post signalled a vehicle No. JK12/ 6955 to stop at a naka but driver broke the naka and fled from the spot.
The vehicle was chased and intercepted at some distance with driver of vehicle Mohammad Shakeel, son of Mohammad Sharif, resident of Chandak ,Poonch. The vehicle was seized and four bovines rescued from it.
Similarly, teams headed by SHO Rajouri Sameer Jillani and SI Sukhvir Singh from Chatyar police post under the supervision of DySP Hqrs, Surinder Khadyal intercepted two vehicles JK11A/ 0304 and JK11D/ 4719 at Darhali bridge and Kallar areas of Rajouri respectively.
Eight bovines have been rescued from both the vehicles which have been seized while two smugglers have been arrested. One of them has been identified as Shamsheer Hussain, son of Manzoor Hussain, a resident of Chandimarh in Bafliaz, Surankote. The Police said three separate FIRs have been registered in this concern.
