12 bovine animals rescued by Samba, Kathua Police

SAMBA, Feb 2:  Twelve bovine animals were rescued at two different places during nakas by Samba and Kathua Police today respectively.
A police party of Police Station Ghagwal during naka checking at NHW Tapyal signaled to stop a truck bearing registered. No. JK02BL-5570 for checking which was coming from Kathua side.
The driver on seeing the police party accelerated the speed of the vehicle and tried to escape from the spot. But on being chased by the Police, the driver abandoned the vehicle at NHW Jatwal and escaped from the spot.
During checking, 10 bovines were found laden inside the vehicles which were being transported illegally without any permission.  The vehicle was seized on the spot and all the bovine animals were rescued. In this regard a case FIR No. 23/2018 under Section 188/RPC, 2/3 PCA Act, has been registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation started.
The police party led by SI Rajeshwar Singh, SHO Ghagwal foiled the bovine smuggling bid under the close supervision of  Deepak Digra, Dy.SP Hqrs Samba and under the directives of  Anil Magotra, SSP Samba.
Meanwhile acting on a specific information, Police team of Police Post Nagri laid naka at Goond and intercepted one Innova car bearing Registration Number JK02AC 9322 which was coming from Punjab carrying two bovine animals.
The bovine animals were sedated and packed between the seats. Police rescued the animals but driver of vehicle managed to escape from the spot. Police has seized the vehicle. Accordingly a case FIR No 43/2018 under Section 188 RPC, 3/5 PCA Act was registered and further investigation is going on.
The drive was carried out by SI Vikas Jasrotia Incharge Police Post Nagri on the directives of senior police officers.
