RAMBAN, Aug 11: Chanderkote Police today rescued 12 bovine animals and arrested one smugger in this connection.
As per police information, a load carrier truck bearing registration number JK02B-8677 en-route to Valley was stopped by Inspector Ajay Singh Chib during a naka laid on Jammu Srinagar National Highway at Kunfer Chanderkote. During checking of the vehicle, Police found 12 bovine animals which were being smuggled to Valley.
Police seized truck as well as bovine animals while the driver, identified as Tufail Ahmed of Belicharana Jammu was arrested.
An FIR number 46 of 2014 under section 188 RPC was registered at Police Station Chanderkote.
