UDHAMPUR, May 2: Police today foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling and rescued 12 bovines besides arresting two smugglers near Majalta.
According to the report, a police party of Police Station Majalta, headed by SHO Kesar Singh and assisted by PSI Gourav Slathia, apprehended two persons who were smuggling the bovines by foot from Samba side towards Udhampur side.
Police rescued the bovines and arrested the smuggler, identified as Mohd Aroun, son of Mohd Suba and Mohd Yaseen son of Mohd Manni, both resident of Goran, Tehsil and District Samba. In this connection, a case has been registered in Police Station Majalta.
