12 bovines rescued, 2 smugglers held

JAMMU, Sept 28: The police seized two vehicles loaded with 12 bovine animals and arrested two smugglers in this connection in Thanamandi area of district Rajouri last night.
Official sources said that during naka checking at Thannamandi the police team led by SHO, Insp Shoket Hussain intercepted two vehicles Tata Mobile bearing Regd.No.JK11F-6640 driven by Arshad Ahmed, son of Mohd Ismail from Behrote and Tata Mobile No.JK11C-6432 driven by Mohd Asif, son of Mohd Sadiq from Argi in Tehsil Rajouri. The vehicles were on way from Rajouri side towards Kashmir valley. A total 12 bovines were found loaded in the vehicles. They were being carried without any valid permission from District Magistrate.
Both the drivers were arrested and bovine animals rescued. Two FIRs No.138/2022 and 139/2022 U/S 188/IPC 11/PCA Act have been registered in this connection.
