12 bovines rescued, 3 smugglers arrested

JAMMU, Dec 26: Jammu police today rescued 12 bovine animals and arrested three smugglers.
“While 10 bovine animals were rescued by Nagrota Police from a vehicle (bearing registration number JK02AB-8677) during naka checking at Ban Toll Plaza, 2 bovines were rescued by Manwal police from vehicle number JK02CJ-8587 during routine checking of vehicles in its jurisdiction,” a police spokesman said.
He said both the vehicles were seized and three accused identified as Tofeem Nasar son of Nasar Hussain of Thanamandi (Rajouri), Mohd Nazir son of Babu Ahmed of Kenth Gali (Udhampur) and Gari Lal son of Sahanou (tehsil Dansal) were arrested by the police. “While the first two were arrested by Nagrota police, the 3rd one was arrested by Manwal police,” he added.
The spokesman said a case FIR number 468/2021 U/S 188/IPC 11 PCA was registered in this connection at police station Nagrota and cognizance was also taken by police post Manwal.
The arrests and recoveries were made by SHO police station Nagrota Inspector Vishav Pratap Singh and Incharge police post Manwal PSI Ayub Khan under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Parupkar Singh. The overall operation was done under the guidance of SP Rural Sanjay Sharma.
