UDHAMPUR, Sept 13: Police foiled one more bovine smuggling attempt in the jurisdiction of Police Station Chenani and rescued 12 bovines.
A Police team of Police Station Chenani, while performing routine vehicle checking at naka point Chenani, intercepted one vehicle (Truck) bearing registration No. JK19A-2557 . During checking, 12 bovines were found laden inside the truck. These animals were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally without any valid permission.
All the bovines were rescued and shifted to a safer place while driver of the truck managed to escape. In this regards, a case FIR No. 146/2024 U/S 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Chenani and further investigation of the case is underway.
