12 bovines rescued, accused arrested

JAMMU, Aug 2: Akhnoor police today rescued 12 bovine animals from the clutches of smugglers.
“Today at about 9.30 am, during naka checking at Chowki Choura, a truck bearing registration number JK05C-1178 was intercepted and during search 12 bovine animals were recovered from the truck”, police sources said.
They said that driver of the truck namely Altaf Ahmed son of Abdul Wahab, resident of Gantamulla and two other persons namely Mushtaq Ahmed son of Bashir Ahmed, resident of Maralian and Abdul Majid son of Mohd Hanief, resident of Berri Angan Sangus (Anantnag) were arrested on the spot.
The arrest was made by a police team led by Inspector Pushpinder Singh, SHO, police station Akhnoor.
