12 bovines rescued, smuggler arrested

JAMMU, July 11: Police today arrested a person for smuggling 12 bovine animals at Bantalab area of Nagrota.
According to a police spokesperson, a tipper bearing registration number PB65G-9435, which was on its way from Jammu to Udhampur, was stopped by police at naka point in Bantalab area of Nagrota.
On inspection 12 bovines loaded in the vehicle were found and rescued by the police, who also arrested the driver of the vehicle namely Zakir Hussain son of Mohd Sardar, a resident of Surinsar (Jammu). The vehicle was also seized by the police.
The naka was laid by in-charge, police post Sidhra, SI Noor Ahmed and SHO Nagrota, Daleep Singh under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota, Bharat Bhushan Sharma and in-charge SSP Jammu, Rajiv Pandey.
