12 bovines rescued, smuggler arrested

UDHAMPUR, Jan 2: Police foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling in Majalta and rescued 12 bovines besides arresting the inter-State smuggler, here today.
These bovines were being smuggled in a vehicle bearing registration number PB02CC-8076, which was stopped by a Police team of Police Station Majalta, led by SHO Inspector Sohan Singh, while performing patrolling duty at Baryalta, dhar road.
During checking, 12 bovines were found laden inside the vehicle in a very cruel manner and without any valid permission. Police rescued the bovines and arrested driver of the vehicle, identified as Gurjant Singh, son of Jasvir Singh, resident of Macher Pura, Batala Punjab.
In this regard, a case FIR under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Majalta.
