JAMMU, Sept 14: Narendra Modi led NDA Government has launched a number of schemes for the upliftment and welfare of  women, unemployed youth and weaker sections and ‘Mudra Bank Scheme’ is one more step in this series.
The Union Minister of State for Agriculture Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Balyan, today said that about 12 crore people across the country will be benefited by Mudra Bank Scheme initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
While addressing a meeting of BJP State office bearers, senior leaders, Ministers, MLAs, MLCs, district and Morcha presidents soon after his arrival from Union Capital this afternoon, he said. these people across the country will be connected to 5.77 crore such units which come under small scale industries. These people do not earn the desired benefits and they  have to run for loans to the private financial institutions or land lords, who charge interests ranging from 20 to 30 per cent from them.
Dr Balyan said the main feature of the scheme is that a loanee has not to keep any mortgage or seek a guarantee against the loan and this was done as these poor people were not in a position to provide a guarantee or mortgage of any immovable property for seeking the loan. Under ‘Mudra Bank Scheme’, the unemployed youth and the people earning their livelihood through small works will be able to get loans in very simplified manner to setup their own units without any guarantee and at the rate of 1 percent monthly interest, he added.
The loan under this scheme has been categorized as Shishu, Kishore and Taru. Under the scheme a  loan of 50,000, 50,000 to 5 lakh, and 5 lakh to 10 lakh will be respectively sanctioned.  He further briefed that every bank will have a Nodal Officer to look into this scheme and a loan mela will be organized from September 25 to October 2 this year, wherein loans sanctioned so far will be distributed among the applicants.
He further said that no Bank can deny the laon under the scheme to a person applying for same and he has to sanction it within stipulated time frame otherwise action will be taken against the sanctioning officer. However a defaulter of the Bank can’t come under this category.
BJP National vice-president, MP & J&K Prabhari Avinash Rai Khanna said that the seriousness on part of the Union Government towards the poor, needy and unemployed can be well judged from seeing that Union Ministers have been deputed to every state to explain the scheme in detail and acquaint the party activists so that they reach the deserving people and mobilize them to gain the benefits of the scheme. The PM’s dream of ending gap between rich and poor will be fulfilled as every person can now enter the bank and avail the benefits of schemes, he added.
